Comparison between FSWizard and HSM Advisor
Hi, I am new to CNC but have soon found out that speeds and feeds are very important. I downloaded FSWizard for android, entered an end mill and got some recommendations on speeds and feeds. These looked reasonable but I was looking for Plunge Feed and Speed which I couldn't find in the app. So I downloaded HSMAdvisor and entered the same data and got very different results and the Plunge speeds and feeds look frightening. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but not sure what. Any ideas? Here's the data from HSMADVisor with the results from FSWizard underlined Material: A36, 44W Hot Roll Steel 160-220 HB same Tool: 11.001mm 4FL HSCobalt None Solid End Mill same Speed: 172.7 SMM/ 5000.0RPM 64m/min 1844rpm Feed: 0.1397 mm/tooth 0.5588 mm/rev 2794.00 mm/min 0.0688mm/tooth 507mm/min Chip Thickness: 0.1397 mm 0.069mm Reference Chip load: 0.1138 mm Engagement: DOC3.00 mm WOC4.00 mm same Effective Dia: 11.001 mm same Cross Section: 0.10 x Dia. Hello, There is definitely something going on there. Perhaps you inadvertently changed Manufacturer Settings for the tool. Please see the attached screenshot for reference. Make sure the Manufacturer Settings are set to default (green) color. If not (Most probably so), click on Speed and Chipload labels to reset it to default. After that you will get more than reasonable numbers. Best regards. PS. You can also click Reset button and set everything to default. This will also fix the issue.
