Max torque and deflection
Hi, I still don't understand how do you calculate max torque and deflection? There is no information about the diameter of the shank, so it is impossible to calculate the strength of the shank and its deflection. I input tool data directly, do not use databases Another question, why the speed bar slide is red even though it is still far from the speed limit of HSS on hardwood (2000m/min vs >120000m/min as recommended tools Vendor).

Hi, To answer your first question. Shank is mostly assumed to be the same diameter as the tip. But you can enter enter value by expanding the tool data area with the Up/Down button on the top left. Speed and feed override sliders turn red when you go over 150% If you have manufacturers suggested speeds and feeds then you should totally use those. I can't speak as to why the recommended values are different without seeing what the manufacturer suggests and in what context. Best regards.

Also please make sure you enter correct tool parameters. I can't imagine a chamfer tool with 90mm tip diameter. Not saying you can't have it. But it sounds wrong. Use the Tool tab on the right to see the current tool representation as HSMAdvisor sees it.

These are tools I want to use, not exactly but something like this which are shank and cutting tip are in different diameter.

Hi, for specialized cutters like that you better go with manufacturer recommendations.
