Insert length

Hiya, So...I recently downloaded the fsWizard. Liked it so much I downloaded FsWizard Pro! I use this app to help determine speeds and feeds when turning. What is meant by "insert length"? Is this the insert size? For example, I've been using .5 when using a half inch insert. Thanks

Hi, Sorry, i totally missed your question. The insert length is currently considered the length of the cutting edge. This is not an ideal description of a turning tool. So we are working on better terminology and modeling. Best regards.

May I suggest using the terminology"I.C." or "inner circle". This would describe the robustness of an insert without getting into manufacture carbide grade. Having a cross reference of carbide grade would be awesome as well! Thanks, Jeff
