Key way cutter Feeds and Speeds
I have been unsuccessful in finding the correct chart for the cutter I am using in HSM I want to make a 4" linear cut of .060" depth stainless steel using a 10 tooth HSS key way cutter measuring; .75" diameter x .118 realizing coolant Using the attached charts with / and formulas I'm calculating approximately; 6" ipm @ 700 rpm Am I safe at these feeds and speeds? Did I provide enough information? Thank you Mofoshee

You said HSS right? The speed you suggest is too high. And the chart you provide is for Carbide-tipped cutters. I would use the following specs: Material: 304 Stainless Cold Rolled 225-275 HB Tool: 0.750in 10FL HSS None Solid End Mill Speed: 55.3 SFM/ 281.7 RPM Feed: 0.0036 in/tooth 0.0362 in/rev 10.20 in/min Please see the attached screenshot to confirm your tool setup matches mine:
