is there an override depth of cut limit?

My first use of HSMAdvisor is to calculate s/f for cutting out profiles in 3/4 in. (actual .72 in.) Baltic birch plywood. I have a carbide 1/4 in. 2-flute cutter with .75 in. flute length. I'm not in a hurry and would like to make the cuts in one pass, but it doesn't let me put in anything more than .5 in. DOC. I expected it to simply give me a lower feed rate to keep deflection within acceptable limits. Is there an override, or might my options be limited by not having paid yet?

I'm kinda suprised it hasn't been mentioned prior myself. It seems to limit the DOC to twice the diameter. I rarely use full depth so wasn't showing up. Eldar is pretty good with fast fixes and replies if we are overlooking it's proper use though that seems unlikely to me on this. Ken

I just noticed that in Cutting Data it says "Cross Section: 2.00 x Dia.". I imagine if it said "3.00 x Dia." I'd be in business, but I can't change it.

I've no clue what Cross Section even relates too? Can you explain to me?

I assume it means the cross section of cutter embedded in the material, i.e. cutter dia. X depth of cut.

That is correct. And you need to set Flute Length field value to something bigger than 0.5" if you want to set depth of cut larger than that value. It assumes you can not cut deeper than the legth of the flute. To set Flute Length and other values please expand "Tool Data" panel. There is a Up-Down button on it that shows/hides additional fields. Regards.
