Chip load

Hi,

When selecting a tool, the proposed chip load is twice the amount defined in the 'Custom Speeds and Feeds' for the tool, unless I lower the 'Feed Adjustment' to 50%. Why is that?

Thanks,

Serge

Hello,

I don't see this issue.

Can you attach the screenshots of your tool and cutting data set up?

Best regards.

The 10 mm tool has a chip load of 0.055 mm.

With 100% Feed adjustment:

With 50% Feed adjustment:

So, the question is why HSMAdvisor doubles the value by default?

Thanks,

Serge

Hello,

I got another update.

What happens is you have a very shallow depth of cut on soft material, so HSMAdvisor bumps up the feed rate by 100%

You can verify it by clicking on the DOC label to have is set a default DOC, which would give you the chip load you have entered in the "Manufacturer" table.

This is normal behavior.

Best regards.
