How to handle runout?

How should I handle runout for the purpose of calculating feeds and speeds? Should I measure it at the tip of the tool and add it to the diameter (because it increases the effective diameter)? I changed to a less powerful spindle with more runout that however offers an automatic tool changer and a higher maximum RPM. I am usually cutting soft materials like POM-C and soft wood with relatively small tools. So e.g. 0.02mm runout would make a notable difference for e.g. an 1.2mm cutter or an 0.8mm PCM drill. PS: Perhaps this question was asked before. However since this forum is lacking a search-function, I was not able to find an answer. Since it is also lacking email notifications, I'll try to remember to come back to look for a reply.

Hi, I see you just made a purchase. Thanks! I don't handle runout in any way. Despite whatever someone will tell you the formula "subtract runout from feed per revolution" is an utter bullshit. I have not seen any manufacturer recommend anything other minimizing runout. There is no math how to handle runout. And if there is no math I prefer to not touch it at all. In my experience runout under 0.025mm is usually compensated by uneven deflection of the tool and as long as runout is smaller than the chipload, it should be fine. I am not saying it will run perfect. And you will get worse tool life. The search is on the bottom of page. Where you start the thread.

(Most forums seem to have established the pattern of putting search into the top navigation or the subforum navigation tree on the side. So that's where I was looking. It seems I was not looking hard enough.)
