Tapping data
Hi Eldar, I am advancing in my CNC knowledge thanks your software. One question what it would feedrate be for rigth tapping for a ISO M1,6MM? I am working with 7075 aluminium and I am not sure what data I must use In fusion the software asks me RPM and surface not more, but in your software ISO tapping offers feed/rev ratio only. How should I interpretate these data? Best regards Gilberto

Hi, Your CAM knows what kind of tap you are using thus it knows what kind of advancement per rotation to program for tapping. All it needs from you is the RPM / Cutting speed. HSMAdvisor does the same. It calcultaes the RPM based on material and tap dia and in/rev value is taken directly from the tap's pitch. Btw. Make sure you limit the Max tap RPM in the machine profile to a value that your machine can handle. Usually 800 rpm works nicely on most machines. Regards :ernaehrung004:
