Tool Inventory Managment

Hello,

I just started using this software and my Boss asked me if there are any intentions of ever expanding on the tool stock and inventory management. We are currently using Walter tools and they have a toolbox on site that they stock and my boss has expressed that the cost for using them is much higher then another tool company but we are stuck using them unless we change our Tool inventory management software.
Do you ever think you will expand and add a tool box lock and unlock and a bar code scanner to your tool inventory manager?

Hello,

Thank you for your question.
I am planning to expand the functionality to support the the toolbox functionality in the future.
But that (though compatible with HSMAdvisor inventory module) will likely be a different product all together.

What is the name of the company producing the toolbox and barcode scanner (also their model names if you have them) you use?
I would have to get in touch with them and request the protocols they use to operate the hardware.

Regards.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me. We currently lease our tool box from Western tool(Not walter like i said in previoous post) and they stock it when it gets low. Which we do not like since there is a large mark up on the tools they stock in the box (20%) and there is less control over our own cutter inventory. I think they use Future tool systems. The tool box is a Rousseau. Im not sure what bar code scanner they use since we check tools in and out with a computer that is provided with the tool box and only they use the bar codes. They use a Retrolock V3.
