Number of Teeth vs Feed and fz
Hi there: IF I change the number of teeth The Feed and fz changes. I am perplex as to what formula FS wizard uses to get fz when number of teeth is changed? Thanks for the help OMAR

Whenever you increase number of teeth you decrease space available for chips. Also you increase cutting force on the tool. Scientifically i must calculate volume of chips produced per revolution and compare it to the available clearance volume. But because it is not possible, i go away simply by reducing chip-load.

Hello Zero_Divide: Scientifically is there a way to build a formula to calculate fz when the number of teeth is changed. How would the formula look? OMAR

There is no scientific formula. I think i just reduce chipload by 10% or so for every tooth. This is in fact what most tool manufacturers show on their charts. Are you sure you are not building another calculator yourself?
