just purchased F&S calc

Would somebody please back me up on the following: 0.375" solid 2 flute Carbide endmill, pocketing to 1" on 7075-T6 Al using a 1.5HP machine I'm receiving readings of @ 3500 rpm, Feed = 21ipm with plunge of 10.5 ish. Would somebody please review that my readings are in the ballpark? Thank you Jerry

Hello, I assume you are limited by the available RPM. Speed and Feed is OK. You did not specify depth of cut. In your case i would suggest starting from about 1/8" DOC Make sure you use coolant or airblast to clear the chips. Aluminum tends to stick to cutting tools if no lubrication is used. Good luck!

Will be using coolant, cutting to 1.25" depth. I can speed up the rpm's to 5000 Thank you!
