I sometimes get email letters from beginning CNC machinists thanking me for making the FSWizard Online Speed and Feed Calculator available for free and asking for some tips and hints.
I always answer and try to encourage people.
Looking at my own CNC career I realize that the thing that is making me successful in my eyes is my own laziness.
Because of how lazy I am I always try to make things the fastest and easiest way possible.
At my previous day job I earned several awards for improving various processes many times saving the company thousands of dollars and many man-hours as a result.
So the main advice I have for those willing to advance is "be lazy"
Always try to improve on your work and make things work faster and better, so you do not have to work hard. If you are successful, your boss will notice.
Bill Gates - the founder of Microsoft once said that he would always give the hard jobs to lazy people, because they always manage to find ways to do them easy.

More goodies for our HSMAdvisor users!
I have just uploaded an update that allows several computers running HSMAdvisor to share the same database. Please check out Tutorials section for more info on how it works and how to turn it on.
I have been bearing this idea for quite some time, but HSMAdvisor user Kevin E. (koodos!) sent me an email and suggested that i finally implement it. He has almost a dozen CAM computers in his shop and he and his co-workers frequently change workstations. Obviousy in this kind of setting it would be hard to keep importing/exporting yout tooling data without loosing anything.
Before you go ahead, however, please make sure you create a backup copy of your database yto prevent possible data loss should anything go wrong.
Also several things were improved and fixed.
First of all, Automatic Registration that allows users with multiple purchased seats request and receive their license key online on-demand has been fixed. All 2 accounts with keys wrongfully issued this way were fixed :)
I also improved the way Tools and Cuts are loaded into the calculator. Before there was a bit of confusion when loading tools from myCutDB page- speed and feed overrides would pick up wrong values - now it is fixed.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me with their suggestions and feedback.
Note: Certain HSMAdvisor Licenses Include FSWizard PRO For Android for Free!! Check out our HSMAdvisor Web Storefor Details

Please try the Free FSWizard Lite first to confirm your device capability. Also huge thanks to those who go through the trouble and leave a review. Good reviews mean more sales and more incentive for me to further improve on this app.
FSWizard Lite and FSWizard PRO are iPhone/Android machinist calculators that do not require internet connection. PRO version has all the latest material lists and speed and feed technology.
Lite version has all the same features, but it only has tool steel, mild steel and aluminum in its material list. It still has all the tool types and tool materials found in online and standalone versions Both Lite and Pro versions have unlocked tapping data.
Lite versions have limited geometry calculators.
This app is intended not to replace but to complement my much more powerful standalone Windows application called HSMAdvisor.
On September the 1st HSMAdvisor will turn one year old.
At that point 75$ for life deal will stop being offered.
Prices will go up. New payment plans will be introduced.
Considered packages are:
Current Release Single Seat License (1 key): xxx$
Current Release Five Seat license (5 keys): xxx$ (30% savings)
Current Release Company-Wide License (Unlimited seats within company premises): xxx$
Program Upgrades (Upgrading from version 1.xx to version 2.0):
Single Seat License Upgrade: xx$

I am not exactly set on pricing right now, so i can not say just how much things will cost. I can only promise that pricing will continue being more than reasonable and very competitive.
Until September i will release several updates, but I will no longer offer trial extensions after September the 1st.
Announced changes will only affect commercial HSMAdvisor.
Free Online FSWizard will remain free for everyone.
First of all HSMAdvusor is being particially rebuilt to fix one current issue and provide easier frature implementation in the future. I will try to push update this weekend.
FSWizard:Online has not seen alot of updates in quite some time. A decision has been made to persue mobile web application with bacend running on the server. Currently i am exploring options, modifying mobile version to work with google's jQuery mobile framework to allow seamless deployment across al platforms.
Below is a screenshot of the mobile web app being developed right now.

As you know the long-awaited standalone version of FSWizard is being prepared for the release right now.
I am changing the name it is going to be marketed under.
Down the line The product is going to consist of many modules. And in order to give it a name that would encompass a wide variety of tools under one umbrella it has been decided to change the name of the solution to HSMAdvisor
A new website is being constructed right now around new product
It is going to be located at HSMAdvisor.com
But we are not forgetting where we came from.
FSWizard is becomming one module inside HSMAdvisor solution. So you will still see FSWiz name popping up here and there.
Also as i said earlyer and robably against better judgement i will keep HSMAdvisor(FSWizard):Online Calulator you have come to love and depend on free for everyone to use.
