HSMAdvisor Partners up with Micro 100

July 7, 2015, 7:46 pm by Eldar Gerfanov (Admin)

Micro 100 Specialty Carbide Tooling company has approached me asking for a branded version of my FSWizard:Online Speeds and Feeds Calculator.

Customer requests for Speeds and Feeds amount for a large portion of their customer support calls.

I hope this partnership will unload their phones AND bring some new users to my commercial products such as desktop HSMAdvisor and FSWizard for mobile platforms.

And here is the link for the custom Speed and Feed calculator i made for them http://micro100.hsmadvisor.com/

PS.

A big. A VERY BIG and VERY GOOD news are coming to those of my users who also use MasterCAM  :)

Upgrades to the Online Store

July 2, 2015, 12:43 am by Eldar Gerfanov (Admin)

I have made some changes to the HSMAdvisor online store.

As of now users can purchase any number of seats they want.

Be it 1,2, 5 or 50. Does not matter any more. User gets to choose the number he wants. A progressive 25% discount will be applied on purchases of multiple seats.

Which means discount will start from 25% for 2 seats and end with 37% for 50 seats.

This should help great deal for people who want some odd number of seats.

And just a remainder: the current 15% on over 90$ is still active until July 4.

Cheers!

Its HSMAdvisor Sale Time!

HSMAdvisor v1.150 released

April 25, 2015, 11:04 pm by Eldar Gerfanov (Admin)

New and updated features

  • New workpiece materials
Cutlery stainless steels have been added
  • Better scaling and control positioning on "Speeds and Feeds" page
  • Tool Database page now displays Libraries in multiple rows, which makes it easier to find stuff.
  • HSMAdvisor now installs by default into "Program Files (x86)" folder
It will still copy data files into your "AppDataRoamingHSMAdvisor" folder. So it will still pick up your old tool library and license file.
  • HSMAdvisor.ZIP archive now does not contain installer files, but rather ready-to use application folders, which you can unpack and use without installation.

As usual check our downloads page to get the update.

Now i know you are wondering when i will release updates to the mobile versions as well.
That should (hopefully) be done by this Monday.

Cheers!

HSMAdvisor v1.146 released

March 29, 2015, 9:08 pm by Eldar Gerfanov (Admin)

We have one major feature in this release and a lot of small improvements:

Starting form this update every HSMAdvisor installer and executable file will be digitally signed.
This will keep both your IT guy and your Antivirus Program happy.

I made a decision to invest into signing my executables because users were complaining about AV programs like Norton shutting down my software.

You can download the latest version in our downloads section

What's New:

  • Digital signing added to the executable files
  • Maximum Tapping RPM added to the Machine Definition dialog to recognize the fact that tapping speed is often a lot smaller than the maximum spindle speed available on most machines.

Improvements:

  • Major work is being done to translate HSMAdvisor to other languages
  • Typos fixed all over the place
  • Machine Definition dialog functions improved
  • Thread Milling tool type now includes DOC and WOC fields
  • Cutting speeds for several materials have been adjusted
  • Fixed condition where restoring the window in "Narrow" mode would cause controls to disappear until Maximize button was pressed
  • Tool drop-down box now better scales and crops extra-long values to make room for all columns

I've got mail

January 10, 2015, 12:26 pm by Eldar Gerfanov (Admin)

Most of email correspondence i receive is questions regarding use of my software, feature suggestions, material requests etc. Purely technical.

But sometimes i receive thank-you letters that make me feel all fuzzy and warm inside. It is a great feeling to know that something you do makes other people's work easier and more productive.

Yesterday I received a letter from one of HSMAdvisor's early users. He actually sent me a couple of short videos with a part he is currently making.

With his permission i am posting his letter:

Quote:
Your calculator is great… after a few years of using it, I am 100% confident in it. Great job!

I have used the software daily for probably close to two years now... Anything from aluminum to 17-4 to A2 Rc65 and any tool I throw at it, in any length. The numbers that your calculator give have never failed. The HSM and chip thinning functions have elevated my milling capabilities without question. Hands down the best money I have ever spent on a manufacturing tool. Thank you!

Thank you Craig,

Over more than last two years you and many others have supported me with very valuable feedback and suggestions. Without all of you, it would have never come as far as it did.

And there is a lot more to come!

Thank You!

I would like to thank everyone who has helped with the development of our software by investing your time and money, making suggestions, reporting bugs, recommending our software on various professional online message boards and to your colleagues.

Every bit of money I charge for our software goes back to development.

Unlike most other software developers, who often hold back on features to not allow their products to compete with each-other, every useful feature available on mobile FSWizard goes to the desktop-based HSMAdvisor and vise-versa. Even if it ends up hurting overall sales.

I was the first developer who was able to bring a speed and feed calculator as complex as FSWizard to the mobile platform and I have just uploaded another update to FSWizard Mobile app, that makes it even more powerful. Almost as powerful in fact as HSMAdvisor.

Why bother? Why create a competing product that does almost as much, but costs almost 3 times cheaper?

Because I know that most of our mobile users are not only unable to buy a more expensive desktop product, but they are also often younger, less experienced and hold machinist positions without access to desktop computers.

These users deserve every help they need to grow skills and their careers.

And when they grow to be CNC Programmers and get to sit in the office, they would need something more convenient and more powerful.

I hope they then remember that the same guy who develops FSWizard:Mobile also develops an even cooler desktop application called HSMAdvisor, that will certainly help keep their bosses even happier than before!

Once again, thank you, guys. Please have a Safe and Prosperous New Year.

Here is the list of recent changes to FWizard:Mobile v1.38
