FSWizard v2.1.1

FSWizard Machinist Speed And Feed Calculator has a new feature!

Filtering was added to the Cut Cloud tool list, making it easy to find the tools you are looking for:

You can filter by the library name, Tool type, and/or by a plain-text search.

Additionally, the list now checks the version and updates in the background, which means the page now appears almost immediately. No more waiting for 15-20 seconds to download all your tools each time you open it.

Thanks to everybody who made improvement suggestions and feature requests!

As usual, you can find the links to the FSWizard app here: https://fswizard.com/

Cheers!

HSMAdvisor v2.5 added support for Cut Cloud!

(10)_image.png

The long-awaited feature, that has been available on FSWizard for some time now is now available in HSMAdvisor as well!

It is currently in the MVP stage, but now when you log in to HSMADvisor Cloud on both the FSWizard and HSMAdvisor (sharing is only allowed within the same account), the cloud tools are automatically synchronized between the two apps.

Check out the latest version here: https://hsmadvisor.com/download

To enable cloud libraries in HSMAdvisor, please Register and/or Log-in to the HSMAdvisor Cloud in Settings or by clicking on Actions->Cut Cloud->Log-in in the Tool Database tab.

Then select the Tool Library you want to sync with the cloud and go to Actions->Tool Library.
Enable the "Sync with HSMAdvisor Cloud" option.

Synced tools are now available on both apps:

Also, a couple of materials were added:

  • AISI431, 1.4057, X17CrNi16-2 (QT800 and QT900)
  • Aluminum 3.1645; EN AW-2007
  • AISI4820 (1.6587, 18CrNiMo7-6)

Please make sure to send me any feedback you have on this or other issues!

FSWizard Cut Cloud Integration.

June 30, 2021, 10:04 am by Eldar Gerfanov (Admin)

New feature coming to FSWizard - the ability to save your tools (and later cutting parameters) online for re-use later.

It is now a feature in development, but the online app already has it enabled: https://app.fswizard.com.

Take it for a spin!

This was initially planned only for the HSMAdvisor app. But since it is easier to develop for FSWizard, I decided to implement it there first. Iron out all the kinks and the flow and then roll it out for HSMAdvisor as well.

Yes, that's right. You will be able to share tools between FSWizard and HSMAdvisor!

Cheers!

HSMAdvisor v1.600 More International Support

April 27, 2019, 8:40 pm by Eldar Gerfanov (Admin)

You know this is good...

when we bump a whole TENTH in the version number!

This release focused on fixing various small issues blah-blah.

The main news is the HSMAdvisor's Translator Form that can now not only Upload, but also Download languages from the cloud!
Which means you can now download someone's unfinished translation file, use it, add to it (hopefully) and upload it again!

When you download someone else's language file with the same name as yours, only the untranslated lines will be updated.

From this point on I will be adding languages that contain certain percent of coverage to the installation.
Installed languages will also be updated as time goes on.

At this point we have the following list of installed languages available:

  • English (main)
  • French (full)
  • Russian (full)
  • Spanish (almost full)
  • Slovak(partial)
  • Czech (partial)
  • Polish (partial)
  • Turkish (partial)

Huge thanks to everybody who contributed to the translation effort!
So if you did, please contact me if you need any licenses (have your user name handy, so i can identify your work).

By the way, do i need to remind that good things happen to those who contribute?

Keep tuned for more cool updates to come out this spring!

Cheers!

5 Ways HSMAdvisor Uses Internt for the Benefit of Machinists

July 24, 2016, 11:41 pm by Eldar Gerfanov (Admin)

This is 21st century and we all live in the age of the Internet.

While some software developers claim to use it for the benefit of the customers they in fact only care about license protection benefits it can provide.

Here is how HSMAdvisor Speed and Feed Calculator uses the big WWW for the benefit of its users:

  1. Tool Database and Cutting Data Sharing
Not many users realise that simply placing the Tool Data Base file on a shared network drive or service like DropBox or Google Drive will keep their Tool DB in sync on all of their computers running HSMAdvisor.
Oh, regarding the "running on multiple computers" thing.....
  2. Floating License allows users to run a single seat of HSMAdvisor on multiple computers non concurrently.
All you need is internet connection! Permanent Licenses do not even need internet connection at all.
  3. Cloud-Hosted Machine Profiles.
Machine Profiles are important part of out calculator tool. Among other things they allow to prevent machine stalls and resulting machine damage and tool breakage.
You can upload your Machine Profiles to HSMAdvisor Cloud for Public or Private access.
Or you can request a machine profile to be added and I will upload it for you to easily download.
All within the HSMAdvisor Machine Definition dialog!
  4. Cut Cloud. The place to get other Machinist's experience at your fingertips.
Another great feature that we are actively developing right now is the Cut Cloud.
It allows Machinists to share their cutting experience with other HSMAdvisor users.
It is still in development but shortly we are going to populate out public online library (Cut Cloud) with cutting data from popular tool manufacturers.
Anyone running HSMAdvisor will be able to just dial in their cutting tool, connect to the Cloud and see how others run their tools in similar cutting conditions on similar machines.
  5. Immediate and Accurate Licensing.
A few times I got emails from disappointed machinists who were not aware of HSMAdvisor and thus chose a competing software product.
They all were complaining about misleading Licensing schemes some software developers were using that hindered their work. Things ranged from not being able to register their seats for hours after completing the purchase to having to keep their computers online almost uninterruptedly (despite claims it could run offline for weeks) to keep their software running.
HSMAdvisor uses transparent Permanent and Floating Licensing scheme that will not leave you hanging.
All purchases are handled automatically and our new customers do not need to wait for a next business day to get their purchase functioning.
We constantly work on making your experience as flawless as possible and do not linger on past achievements.

There is a lot more work planned and already in progress.

In the age when everyone is talking about how internet is turning the world around we are doing our small part in making it happen!

Thank you, everybody for your support and feedback!

HSMAdvisor is moving to the Rolling Release model

April 21, 2016, 7:33 pm by Eldar Gerfanov (Admin)
Capture_prices.PNG

From this point on, all holders of valid HSMAdvisor licenses will be eligible to free Life-Time updates and upgrades to their HSMAdvisor product.
Likewise there is not going to be a big functionality jump between the version 1.99 and 2.0 like in some other software products.

This release model is called "rolling release" and it is becoming the new industry norm.
It offers smoother transition and no steep learning curve for existing users. It also helps prevent unavoidable bugs when a large amount of changes is introduced all at once.
