DOC/WOC Confusion On Angled Cuts

Pretty simple question- How do I handle WOC & DOC when I am using tools that make angled cuts when the tool is oriented normal to the work piece(i.e. chamfering, single point threadmilling, etc...) I am trying to single-point threadmill a 1/2- 13 hole but don't know where to start on DOC/WOC/# of passes. Thanks!

Hello,

The chamfer mill is unique in it's handling of DOC and WOC.
Doc there is considered the distance from the tip of the cutter to the to edge of the work piece.
WOC is the actual width of the chamfer. See screenshot #1

For a Thread mill:
DOC is the depth of teeth engagement. For single point threading it will equal the pitch of the thread.
WOC is the width of pass. It is usually about 70% of the pitch value.
