Chip thinning and HSM checkboxes

I understand how chip thinning works. I see that either one of these boxes will turn the federate up, HSM more than chip thinning. What is the difference between these two buttons?

Hi,

Chip Thinning increases the chip load in order to keep the chip thickness the same when thinning occurs.

HSM switch increases Cutting speed. Because at low width of cut cutter spends less time in contact with work piece we can increase speed and still get the same tool life.
And when you increase cutting speed, feed rate will also increase.

In other words Chip Thinning affects chipload and HSM affects Cutting speed.

Best regards!
