Toll Database - minor issue [FIXED]

I'm using 1.208 here and the "Move to..." function is not working for me.

I'm getting by with with copy and delete but have noticed that move is doing nothing.

While I'm at it I'd also like to ask on how people are populating their tool databases?
It's quite tedious doing them one at a time, I'd love a method to punch in all the data via a spreadsheet.

I've only just discovered (as I'm typing this) the ability to import and edit xml data within excel but I'm hesitant to dive right into trying to use it - any tips would be gratefully appreciated.

Hello,

Thank you for reporting the "Move" issue. I will take a look into that.

Regarding the "Populating the database fast" question.
You can mount an XML wile using excel. But the likelyhood of screwing something up is very high.
So high in fact, that I would not do it myself.

Each tool should he entered through HSMAdvisor means.
But we can make it faster.

Would you like to have an editable excel-like window to open where you can type values directly into the cells? Or simply a wizard that would take an already saved tool and create smaller and bigger versions of it?

Just throwing ideas. I like the wizard solution.

Either way I will look at making adding batches of tools simpler.

Hi Eldar,

I've just tested the latest update.

'Move to' is working fine. Thank you, it's only minor but it's great to see you so responsive.

Thanks for adding the 'Mass Edit-Create Sizes' capability, it's a great start. If only I had of responded earlier as I think an excel style table is the way to go.

The ability to pick which parameters you want in the table would also be great to avoid having too much to fill in if you don't need to, but once you can copy from tool to tool in an excel style table it's already going to be a lot easier than the current process.

eg.
Sometimes I'm copying a family of endmills to a new family with only a different coating/helix angle or to a similar family of cutters from a different manufacturer that don't share the same shank-sizes across the range.

Thanks again.
