Materials database

Instaed of cluttering up the database with differnt types of material that are common to different countries, having a conversion page where you can cross reference differnce materials ?

That is a good idea.
i have felt the need to better separate between different material systems.
Does anything come to mind where it is done and you like how it works?
How about a table that would hold materuals as rows and systems (american,european, etc) as columns?
sort of how it is done in seco catalogues.
