HSMAdvisor v1.515
I have done quite some work on HSMAdvisor in the last couple of weeks.
Let's just cover real quick the new things in this update.
I have done quite some work on HSMAdvisor in the last couple of weeks.
Let's just cover real quick the new things in this update.
Our users have asked for better integration between HSMAdvisor's built-in Materials library and the thing called Cross Reference table and finally here it is!
Now when you click on the "More" button next to the "Material" drop-down list...
... the updated Material Cross Reference dialog appears.
Read MorePreviously when someone asked me whether HSMAdvisor works on linux or Mac I would steer them towards using VirtualBox or Parallels or some other virtual machine to run HSMAdvisor in the virtual Windows box.
As it turns out it is not always necessary.
Our customer has just managed to successfully run HSMA on Linux using package called Wine.
All he had to do was to use wine in 32 bit mode.
I, personally, did not think it was possible to run an app as complex as HSMAdvisor on linux without any modifications on my side. But i was wrong!
Here is a helpful link if you are running 64 bit version of linux and your Wine refuses to launch HSMAdvisor in 32 bit mode:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/136714/how-to-force-wine-into-acting-like-32-bit-windows-on-64-bit-ubuntu
Reportedly Reference and Geometry tabs do not work. But this is not surprising, since they use Internet Explorer to show the information.
Also pressing ENTER key causes the app to crash.
I am going to install a test Linux system on my workstation in the near future and figure out how to fix those issues and make Non-Windows support more readily available.
Having made a new FSWizard App design and right before publishing. I decided to rewrite the whole core almost from scratch.
This was needed to make room for new modules like User Tool Libraries and Machine Profiles.
The work is going ahead at full speed and in due time i will roll our the brand new spanking FSWizard!
I have just uploaded the latest update to HSMAdvisor hook for MasterCam x9 and 2017.
This is a catch-up update to the latest HSMAdvisor improvements.
Additionally i promised few guys a tutorial on how to easily install the hook into MasterCam 2017
So here it is:
Please excuse my lack of artistic prowess.
Hey, You can be ANYTHING but you can not be EVERYTHING
And i am more of a technical guy who, perhaps, lacks the hypnotizing narrating skills of a salesman :)
There have been lots of new functionality in the program and i am going to release a video showcasing that soon.
Keep an eye out for it!
Best Regards.
As usual the latest update can be downloaded over here: http://hsmadvisor.com/?page=HSMAdvisor
Every time we add a tenth to HSMAdvisor version number our users know we are up to something completely new and exciting!
Please welcome HSMAdvisor 1.5
I know this feature might not be as interesting to our English-speaking users, but I believe it is a major milestone in maturity of any application.
I have been semi-secretly working on this feature for the past year or so.
If you do not find your native language in the list, do not get upset!
You can easily create your own translation. The proper process for translating HSMAdvior to other languages is described here: http://hsmadvisor.com/?page=help&shell_id=241&article_id=4883_international-language-support
By the way here are other changes that were introduced in this update:
Best Regards
It has finally Happened!
I have just released the first ever HSMAdvisor hook for MasterCam 2017!
You can download it over here: http://hsmadvisor.com/index.php?page=HSMAdvisor_for_MasterCAM
I ran it through its paces in the last couple of days and made sure it functions just perfectly.
However, be careful and should you notice any funky things please let me know!
Regards.
A few days ago a HSMAdvisor user asked for Hardness conversion chart to be added to our great product.
So. Here we go:
It is accessible on Reference tab.
This chart is now available in update v1.405 at the old address: http://hsmadvisor.com/?page=HSMAdvisor
Why i am stressing the location is because some file hosting websites are hosting something that claims to be genuine HSMAdvisor software without first asking for my permission.
Please always download our software from hsmadvisor.com website.
Our software is also signed with my name.
So you can be sure it comes from me directly and is not tainted by malicious code.
Also in this update i added Acrylic to the materials list.
Regards!
I have been several times asked to add a right-angle triangle to the Geometry calculators list.
And every time i dismissed the idea because there is already an oblique triangle calculator, which works exactly like a right-angle if you set one angle to 90 degrees.
Basically i was being lazy to add it because i felt like users of my software should not be so lazy and use the Oblique triangle calc instead...
Finally someone asked for the Right Triangle in the new Suggestions form (the blue balloon on the bottom task bar) and having no way to contact the author (suggestions are anonymous) i have decided to finally implement the damn calculator!
So. Enjoy, guys!
Also in this update I fixed one glitch with the S&F Calculator as well.
